Agriculture plays vital role in the development of agricultural country. In India about 70% of population depends upon farming and one third of the nation’s capital comes from farming. Issues concerning agriculture have been always hindering the development of the country.
The only solution to this problem is smart agriculture by modernizing the current traditional methods of agriculture. in recent years, greenhouse technology in agriculture is to automation, information technology direction with the IOT (internet of things) technology rapid development and wide application.
1. The project aims at making agriculture smart using automation and IoT technologies.
2. It includes smart irrigation with smart control and intelligent decision making based on accurate real time field data.
3. Thirdly, smart Poly-House management which includes temperature maintenance, humidity maintenance and theft detection in the Poly-House.

Controlling of all these operations will be through any remote smart device or computer connected to Internet and the operations will be performed by interfacing sensors, Wi-Fi or RF modules, camera and actuator with micro-controller.
An automated IOT based system used inside a Poly-house to monitor & Control the climatic parameters (Temperature, Humidity, Light Intensity & Soil moisture).

The implementation of IOT based system for real time tracking and control of essential parameters i.e.
The amount of water supplied to the plants based on the PH -value/level maintained for the nutrients provide to grow the plants in these poly-houses are quite time consuming & complicated with manual feeding.

The automated system is developed to monitor all these climatic parameters & run the water pump & motor to the desired time intervals as these parameters changes based on irrigation requirements.
The components used are:-
Microprocessor- Raspberry-Pi - Model 3 B+ -1pc
Microcontroller- ArduinoMega2560 - 1pc
Display- LCD 16x4 - 1pc
Power Adaptor- 12V @2 Amp -1pc
AC to DC converter- Full wave rectifier circuit
Temperature & Humidity Sensor- DHT22
Soil moisture sensor- probe
Intensity sensor- LDR
Actuation- Relay 5V @ 10 Amp
(2-pin connector, wires, LED, Resistors, Capacitor, Voltage regulator...) etc..

The challenge is to make a wired field of sensors in 27x11 sq. meters, which is achieved with the help of 2 pin- power distribution connector hubs in between each row & column.
The overall resistance in the entire circuit which is done with the help of voltage to current & vice versa.

The advantage of Smart Greenhouse over conventional farming is that we were able to produce insecticide and pesticide free crops and create a climate for the proper growth of plants and even provides alternative source of income through apiculture, selling tube well water etc. Moreover, this system can be installed by any individual in his house (Rooftop greenhouse), who doesn’t have knowledge about farming. Since one can maintain any climatic condition in this type of Greenhouse, it is possible to cultivate any type of crop. Hence, we grow plants like Hibiscus which are imported to India. We can reduce 70%-80% water requirement. It also increases yield and rate of growth and produces organic agricultural products. Most importantly, we are able to connect farmer directly to consumer using IoT, which can save him from the clutches of middlemen. It reduces effort and time of farmer and makes farming efficient and profitable activity.

The Smart Greenhouse can be further upgraded in many ways and can be used in wide agricultural applications. It can be placed and operated in any of the environmental conditions to grow any kind of vegetation. Non-conventional energy sources such as solar panels, wind mills are used to supply power to the automatic greenhouse equipment’s and Peltier effect for cooling purpose. Soil-less farming can be performed to further improve the nutritional value. Integration of farming with IoT can make it much more efficient and profitable activity. Smart Greenhouse has a bright scope of future in agriculture field and it will create a revolution in the way the agriculture is carried out in India.

Also, this project is optimized with the wireless sensor monitoring system which is way faster and accurate to get all the data without loss of delay as of wired one.
